Diabetes is a disease that affects every part of the body, including the eyes. Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of blindness in the Unites States. Often there are no symptoms in the early stages of diabetic retinopathy. Come and hear Dr. Tracy Schauer talk about diabetes and the effects on the eye. Learn what you can do to help prevent this sight threatening complication of diabetes.
Dr Schauer and the doctors at Uptown Eye Care strongly feel that identifying and meeting the needs of their patients is their primary objective. So strongly, in fact, that part of our mission statement is “Our entire team is dedicated to providing you and your family with superior eye care…because your health is our first priority.”
For this reason we are especially happy when our patients let us know that we are meeting this goal. This is a letter written by one of Dr Schauer’s patients. We wanted to share it with you.
Uptown Eye Care’s Dr Tracy Schauer will have a booth the Diabetes Health Fair being held at the New River Medical Center in Monticello, MN next Tuesday. She will be visiting with attendees on the importance of caring for your eye health if you are living with, or at risk for, Diabetes.
Dr. Tracy Schauer, OD, practices comprehensive optometry, including the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eyes and diabetic eye disease.
